How to Get Free or Low-Income Legal Aid in Los Angeles
Each year thousands of lower income families and individuals need legal aid or council. Unfortunately, many of these people are unable to afford traditional fees for these legal services. The US government has a program that helps low income individuals with legal aid and funding in Los Angeles and around the country. The program is called Legal Services Corporation or LSC.

Head to the Legal Services Corporation website. The LSC site lists information about the program, case studies of people that have been helped and other resources. The website also offers an interactive map where you can find help in your state, county and city. Clicking on the California map will take you to a page with legal aid resources in Los Angeles and other cities.

Check with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, or LAFLA. LAFLA helps families and individuals with a wide range of legal aid from health care and housing to domestic violence and bankruptcy. Understand that you will have to qualify before receiving low-income legal aid. Individuals will need to supply proof of income, properties, residence and family information. The income requirements for qualifying for legal aid are based on Federal Government guidelines based on the Los Angeles area.
