Green Bean Casserole is known to be served on everyone's table every holiday season. This casserole dish can be prepared to your liking. Add your favorite ingredients and start a tradition of your own.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 cups French cut Green Beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sliced portabella mushrooms
  • 1 1/3 cup French's French Fried Onions
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Melted butter
  • Dash black pepper
  1. Step 1

    Portabella Mushrooms

    Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth and rub lightly. Slice portabella mushrooms and measure 1/2 cup. In a sauce pan, add green beans, mushroom soup, milk, mushrooms, and black pepper. Simmer under low heat until the mixture bubbles. Don't burn.

    Add French's fried onions to mixture and mix well. Grease bottom of dish with butter and sprinkle some bread crumbs and Parmesan Cheese. Pour green beans in the casserole dish and sprinkle a generous amount of bread crumbs and cheese on top. To get a crispy topping, simply drizzle melted butter on the bread crumbs.

  3. Step 3

    In pre-heated oven, bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until bubbly hot. Carefully remove from oven with oven mittens and serve warm.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try different soups for flavor including cream of chicken, cream of celery, or cream of potato.
  • French cut beans are the best. They present a classy look to your "Casserole Dish."
  • Take leftovers and make "Green Bean Casserole Pancakes." Heat a skillet with cooking spray or oil, shape casserole into small patties and fry. Serve with chicken or turkey gravy.
