Things You'll Need:

QUALITY PRODUCTS. When you're ready to start your small used book business and make money online, you need to make sure you're also building a reputation for quality. Browse your old book collection looking for any blemishes that might diminish a book's value. Damaged books can still be sold, but documentation of the damages must be shared with potential customers prior to their purchase. This honesty will translate into return customers, referrals, and more online earnings.

  2. Step 2
    Make Money Online with Ebay

MAKE MONEY ONLINE WITH EBAY. Ebay is a great place to sell old books, but you won't make money online listing each book in an auction. To make money on Ebay, create an online store and create a 'buy it now' listing for each book. This will reduce your Ebay fees and keep your books for sale online until you've made the sale or have decided to remove the item.

  3. Step 3
    Make Money Online with Amazon
    Make Money Online with Amazon

MAKE MONEY ONLINE WITH AMAZON. Amazon makes it easy to create your own used book store on their website. Amazon provides the tools for you to list, describe, and price your items. Amazon also comes with a built-in customer base. They make it easy to make money online by taking care of all the technical aspects of online transaction. All you do is list books, wait for customers, and make money.

  4. Step 4
    Make Money Online with Craigslist

MAKE MONEY ONLINE WITH CRAIGSLIST. If you have books that are particularly valuable, you may wish to list them individually rather than including them in a store list. One way to do this and avoid big auction fees of Ebay is to list more valuable books on Craigslist. Selling through Craigslist is free, however, you will have to handle online transactions yourself. Craigslist does not provide shopping cart technology.

  5. Step 5

MAKE MONEY WITH YOUR OWN WEBSITE. You don't have to be an expert at HTML or web design to create a fully functional online store capable of handling credit card and paypal accounts. Choose a host with website design programs, like Yahoo Small Business, or Gator Host. Then turn to paypal for free shopping cart technology capable of handling most online transactions. The website will probably come with an up front expense, but basic Paypal merchant services are available with no start-up fee.

  6. Step 6

GET SEEN AND MAKE MONEY ONLINE. However you choose to sell your used books, getting seen is the only way to make money online. Look for free methods of advertising, such as social bookmark sites, Google URL submission, and friends and family. You may also list your store and advertise items for free by listing them on Craigslist and directing interested customers to your online sales site.
