How to Make a Wreath Ornament From a Lid

Here is a super easy craft you can make from a bit of yarn and plastic lid. I used lids from a Pringle's can, but you can use any plastic lid. Try different sizes for a nice variety.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Plastic lid
• scissors
• yarn
• felt (optional)

1. First carefully cut the center of your lid out. You will want it to be a fairly neat circle. Be careful of rough edges! You can throw away the center bit.

2. Tie off one end of your yarn around the lid at one side. It should look like a yo yo if you let the lid dangle. Now begin wrapping the yarn through the middle of the lid and around the edges. This might take a while depending on your lid size.

3. When your lid is completely covered it should look like a wreath, or a green donut! Now you can attach a bit of string through the yarn at the back for hanging.

4. If you'd like to turn this into a picture frame glue a piece of felt on the back in the same color as the yarn. Only glue three sides, leave the top side open for sliding your photo into.

Tips & Warnings

• You can add beads during while wrapping the yarn around the lid. These can be your 'holly berries'.
• Try different colors of yarn for funky wreaths, or even for plain ornaments.
• Be careful cutting the lid. Plastic can be tough and the scissors can slip!
