How to Sleep Well On a Hot Night

Hot nights can be tough for everyone, not just women going through menopause.

Here's How to Sleep Well On a Hot Night

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Throw off your blanket. This lets your skin breathe. If you must have a bed sheet, pick a thin one.

  2. Step 2

Get ice-cold. Get a bag full of ice and place it in front of an electric fan facing your bed. The fan will cause the ice to melt and the water will evaporate as very cold air. This will last for as long as the ice isn't all melted. Enough for you to fall asleep.

  3. Step 3

Open the windows to let fresh evening air in.

  4. Step 4

Take a bath before going to bed. Do not dry yourself too much. Dry your hair if you want so as not to soak your pillow. But keep your body wet. This will keep you cool for quite a while.

  5. Step 5

Wet a blanket and wring it out. Then use it as your blanket. If you're not sensitive to chills, this will help you to sleep well on a hot night.

  6. Step 6

Use blue ice. These melt more slowly than the usual ice. Buy big blocks and hug them when you sleep.

  7. Step 7

Use ice packs. Cover your forehead or the back of your neck to keep cool

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep drinking water on standby.
  • Buy a powerful fan. Put it in a nearby room and leave the door open. The fan must face an open window. It will then drive out hot air from the house and draw in cold air.
  • Beware of changing water bed temperature. This can cause hypothermia.
  • Don't use a fan too strongly. It can dehydrate you.
  • Do not be active for one hour before bed time.
