Avoid Bad Odor On Your Baby's Neck

Many new moms complain about a foul smell and sometimes a white cheesy substance on their baby's neck. There is an easy way to get rid of the smell and avoid this from happening in the future.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • bibs
  • baby soap
  • burp cloths
  1. Step 1

Make sure you burp baby during and right after each and every feeding. If baby does not burp, he will spit up and the milk or formula will drip down into the creases in baby's neck.

  2. Step 2

Place a bib on baby, make sure the bib is close to the face and snug, but not tight.

  3. Step 3

Wipe baby's neck frequently making sure to get into the folds and creases. Wipe gently especially after feedings.

  4. Step 4

Give the baby a bath every day or every other day. Use a baby wash cloth with baby soap and tilt baby's head back making sure to thoroughly clean neck and into creases. Make sure you dry the area also.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can try putting a little cornstarch on after the neck has been cleaned and dried.
