Step 1
The old SEO. This method is simple, but not easy. In fact, I was discussing this with a friend last night. He HATES the old way. Here’s what it entails: you want incoming links from high page rank sites. You want this 2 reasons: 1. You will get traffic from the people who are on high page rank site and 2. Your site’s page rank will increase in google because you got a link from a high page rank site. This will make more traffic come in through the search engines to your site. Another thing that the old SEO says you should do is keyword rich content. I say keep this, but don’t go overboard. It’s good to talk about the keyword and give valuable information.

Step 2
The NEW way. Have you heard of social bookmarking? Well, that was a dumb question on my part. Of course you’ve heard of it (unless you’ve been living under the rock). This is really taking over. Visit socialposter.com and you can find all the social bookmarking sites. What you will do now is submit this valuable content (video, article, etc) to these sites. The great thing about sites like digg and stumbleupon is that they are pre-trusted by google (they already have high page rank). So when you submit your site here, its like getting a link in the traditional SEO style. But be careful! I wouldn’t go around submitting spam. There is a REASON google trusts these sites: they are full of live people. And if these live people rate ya down, you’re screwed. Submit a no-offer content rich article or video, for example (Be sure to include a link to your offer page below the article or video though). This method is great because if your content is good, other people will rate you higher, which will give you even more traffic. Excellent!

Step 3
I say use a little bit of both. Don’t spam your keywords everywhere and don’t submit just offer sites to these social bookmarking sites. But think about it, would you rather beg a webmaster to give you an incoming link to your little authority website or would you rather submit your great content on demand. I’d rather do the latter! Check out our quiz in the resource section below this article to find out how successful people implement these techniques and how you should too.
