If you are bored with the Power Point backgrounds and want to copy a PowerPoint background to another presentation, here are the steps to do it and get the template you want for your presentation.

  • Computer
  • PowerPoint
  • Presentation with background you like
  • New Presentation

Instructions

      Open up PowerPoint. Find a presentation with a background template you like and want to add to your presentation. Open both files.

      Normal View

      View PowerPoint you wish to copy. Be sure you are in Normal View or Slide View, where you can see the Outline/Slides view on the left pane with the slides pane selected.

      Miniature Slide

      Click on miniature slide in original presentation. Click on Format Painter (the Paintbrush). This will copy the background of the slide.

      Click over to new presentation and click on mini slide there. Once you click on mini slide in new presentation, you will see the background change to the same template as the original presentation.

      If you have multiple slides in your presentation that you wish to change template, double-click the Format Painter button on he original PowerPoint presentation before copying. This will allow you to paste into multiple slides in the new presentation.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is easier to copy template into new presentation with only one slide.
