Dogs love Reiki. It helps calm an anxious mind, relieve pain and fills the dog with a peaceful, loving energy that gives them that Reiki glow! This practice can be used for Reiki I and beyond.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Love
  • Dog treats
  • Fresh water
  • An old sheet
  1. Step 1

Clear and ground the room by sending Reiki into the walls, ceiling and floor of the room you're in.

  2. Step 2

If the dog is in a new place and wants to explore, give it time to do so.

  3. Step 3

Provide a bowl of fresh water.

  4. Step 4

If you're working on the floor, spread an old sheet on the floor where you can place the bowl of water and you and the dog can sit.

  5. Step 5

When the dog tells you it's ready to receive treatment, it will sit near you or begin licking you. You know the dog feels safe then.

  6. Step 6

Speak lovingly and calmly to the dog, being careful not to incite excitement. Allow your words to be as soothing and calming as the energy coming out of your hands.

  7. Step 7

Begin to place your hands along the dogs spine, on their head, near the tail and on the chest. Feel the Reiki flowing into the dog.

  8. Step 8

Before you end the treatment, give the dog a little massage. Massage it's head, it's jaw, it's ears and along the spine. Brush off any lingering energy by sweeping your hand down it's back.

  9. Step 9

The dog may fall asleep or become energized after a treatment. It depends on how the individual dog responds to the healing energy. If the dog falls asleep, let it rest for a while if possible. If it becomes energized, give it a healthy treat and tell the dog how good it was!

Tips & Warnings
  • Most dogs love Reiki. If for any reason, a dog is not allowing you to treat them, please honor their wishes.
  • You can send distant Reiki if you are allergic or if you are not able to see the dog in person.
  • Do not feed the dog before a treatment or have food in front of the dog during the treatment. This is very distracting and will create excitement when you want the dog to deeply relax.
  • Play nature sounds in the background. Most dogs love calming nature music like waves or forest sounds.
  • If a dog is experiencing illness, recommend an organic and/or raw food diet and a probiotic/enzyme supplement.
  • Release expectations from the healing. Heal only with love for the animal and trust in Reiki. Trust that no matter what the appearances, Reiki worked and the dog received exactly what it needed at that time.
