They are the worst or one of the worst pains to endure, headaches. Whether they are clusters or migraines they can be debilitating. This article will provide tips for easing the pain of a headache naturally.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Try a little tenderness. When you are suffering from a headache you don't want to over do it. Be gentle with yourself. Stay at home in your own space.

  2. Step 2

Lavender. Lavender if rubbed on your temples or on a cool washcloth placed on your forehead can be soothing. The scent sends a relaxation to the sensors in your brain releasing constriction of the blood vessels.

  3. Step 3

Massages. They are great because they feel good but other than that, they release stress, get out knots from taught muscles, relax you and rid toxins. Moving the blood about can bring more oxygen to the brain. This can relieve a headache within minutes.

  4. Step 4

When ever I get a headache I also like to take a cool shower. Run the water along my back and neck muscles. The cool eases the pain instead of hot. Think about it, heat can swell the blood vessels, this constricts, cool alleviates and allows blood vessels to relax, reducing the pain.

  5. Step 5

Shut the lights. You will notice if you are sensitive to light, it could be making your headaches worse. Shut the lights and close your eyes. If you find it hard to lay down, as I do when I have a headache, just sit quietly in the dark. Breath with your legs crossed, begin to meditate. Use your breath as a tool. Breathing also rids stress and toxins and allows for ample oxygen into lungs, your brain, it moves blood circulation as well.

  6. Step 6

Stretch. There are a few exercises you can do to relive a pain in the head. Some headaches begin from the cervical spine, back of your neck area. Sitting with legs crossed. Tilt your head to the right side, take your right arm and place it over your head, rest your right hand on your left ear. Breath into the space that lies between your left ear and shoulder. Take 10 long breaths here. Than repeat on other side. Take hands to the back of your neck now and gently without curving the spine, tuck chin into your chest.. Take 6 breaths here. You will feel an immediate release. This stretches the taught muscles bringing a bit of relief.

  • These are just a few ideas. If you are having headaches that are often, you may want to see your doctor to get a diagnosis or medication if these alternate resolutions do not work for you.
