Are you bored of playing Scrabble and looking for something bigger? If so, you're in luck, because Super Scrabble is for you. Featuring a bigger board and quadruple point squares, Super Scrabble can satisfy even those with the biggest appetite for playing Scrabble.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Playing Super Scrabble is much like playing regular Scrabble. In fact, the game follows the same rules as regular Scrabble, except that it utilizes a larger board, more tiles and more points.

  2. Step 2

The game features 200 tiles to be placed on a board consisting of 441 open squares. In addition to the standard double and triple spots that are on the original Scrabble board, Super Scrabble features quadruple spots as well, making it possible to score a lot of points.

  3. Step 3

To begin, players are given seven tiles to be placed in a tile holder, which hides the tiles from the other players. When it is their turn, each player places a word on the board that connects to another word that is already on the board, either by adding to that word or creating a word that touches the original word either vertically or horizontally.

  4. Step 4

After using tiles on a turn, each player refills their tile holder with enough tiles to bring their tile count back to seven, so that player is ready for their next turn. Players should always have seven tiles on their tile holder, except at the end of the game when there are less than seven tiles remaining in the tile bag.

  5. Step 5

When playing Super Scrabble, players should employ strategy. With a lot of double, triple and quadruple word and letter spaces on the board, there is plenty of opportunity to earn a high number of points. Also, focus on where to place certain letters. If you can place a Z on a quadruple letter spot, you've earned a lot of points!

  6. Step 6

As with regular Scrabble, turns progress until all tiles are used, or no one else can make a move. At this time, the game is over and the final scores are tallied. To do this, players add up the points from all of their turns. The points from any remaining tiles on a player's tile rack are added up and subtracted from that player's final score.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set aside lots of time to play - the large board allows the game to take a long time to complete.
  • Using all seven tiles on your board in one turn (which is called a Bingo) is much less important in Super Scrabble than it is in standard Scrabble because Super Scrabble provides other ways to gain large amounts of points.
  • Letter distribution in Super Scrabble is not the same as adding two bags of tiles from original Scrabble together.
