CitiFinancial offers personal loans, home equity loans and auto loans to qualified people. See the Resources below to apply for a loan, or access your account online so that you may manage it more easily. You will need to register the loan and obtain an online account if you have not done so already. This will allow you to track your loan, make payments and view your balance.
With a Rate Reduction plan offered for all loans, CitiFinancial account holders can stay on top of their loan and work with CitiFinancial to make sure they receive the most competitive rate available.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer Internet access Account number
  1. Step 1

Visit one of the 2000 CitiFinancial branch locations across the U.S. Visit a branch to dispute erroneous or fraudulent information on the loan account, update account information, apply for a new loan, inquire about rate changes or make a payment.
Payments can also be made online.

  2. Step 2

Register for online banking and track your personal loan for APY, interest paid, principal balance and other term modifications.
Set up monthly payments online to pay the minimum for the loan. Track the balance monthly to determine how much the balance has decreased.

  3. Step 3

Refer to your monthly statement. When managing your account, check your monthly statement to confirm that all payments have been received and correctly processed.
Always print the confirmation page when making an online payment. This will prevent you from having to pay a fee should an error occur.

  4. Step 4

Contact customer service about bankruptcy and foreclosure issues that will affect the loan. Ask about prevention counseling or negotiate a repayment plan that is better suited for your financial situation.

  5. Step 5

Review your credit report online to make sure that CitiFinancial has accurately reported information about your loan. Locate the "Resource Center" tab at the top left-hand corner of the home page. Click on the tab and scroll down to "Order credit report online." Follow the directions.
