You need to find a reputable organization. You do not need to buy an "how to" books to be a mystery shopper.

If you do a search for Mystery Shopper on google you will be faced with two different results. Some will be people trying to sell you information. DO NOT BUY IT. There are countless organizations that are contracted by many major stores and restaurants.

Start slow. Register with one company. Almost all companies require you to complete an online training and testing. Again, this is free.

Once you a certified, you will have access to their database and can select what job you want to do. Start with a few easy ones and get the feel of it. Make sure this is something you want to do. You need to look at it as a business. It will require organization and timely reports.

Within the same company, you can achieve higher certification for particular stores. For instance, McDonald's requires someone to be certified specifically for their restaurant.

Again, you are starting slow. Once you file your reports correctly and on time, more jobs will be available to you.
