Is the thought of college scary for you? Afraid of the transition from high school to college? Well don't worry, because it will all be okay! Check out below for some tip from a college graduate.

Things You'll Need:

  • A good attitude towards school!
  1. Step 1

Live on campus. If possible, live on campus, and live in the dorms with a roommate. Keep your door open and be open and friendly to meeting new people! Living on campus and talking with others gives you a sense of community. It makes you feel like you belong, not to mention the self independence! If you can't live on campus, it's okay. Make sure you network with the people in your classes. And follow step number 2!

  2. Step 2

Join clubs and organizations. Joining clubs gives you an opportunity to get to know the people on campus, but to also pursue your interests. It's fun and clubs are open to having you. Check out your school's club fair each semester for info.

  3. Step 3

Go to class. Don't skip class. Establish a good rapport with your professor. Remember, the professors are there to help you, and they WANT to help you. Ask questions when you don't understand, and do your work. Professors are usually flexible with assignment dates if you have an emergency, and the better rapport you have with the professor, the more likely he/she will be to grant you what you need.

  4. Step 4

Enjoy school! Work if you have to, but remember that you have the rest of your life to work. Do what you need to survive, but don't work a million jobs and spread yourself too thin. Ask for help (with anything) when you need it before you go crazy. It's amazing, but I've learned that people want to help you. All you have to do is ask. So work hard in your courses, and enjoy school! It's a once in a lifetime experience so have fun with it!
