This is not your traditional meatloaf sandwich...it's better!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 can seasoned tomato sauce for meatloaf (or reg. tomato sauce and pkg. of meatloaf seasoning)
  • 1 Cup quick oats OR bread crumbs OR crushed crackers
  • instant potatoes
  • milk
  • butter
  • water
  • sliced mozzarella cheese
  • texas toast
  • brown gravy mix
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Mix ground beef, eggs, oats (or whatever binding ingredient you chose), and 1/2 of the seasoned tomato sauce into large mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Place meat mixture into baking dish or loaf pan and shape into a loaf.

  4. Step 4

    Cook UNCOVERED for 1 hour.

  5. Step 5

Remove from the oven, drain, top with remaining sauce and return pan to oven.

  6. Step 6

Bake another 10 minutes, then remove from oven and let it sit to cool a little.

  7. Step 7

While meatloaf is cooling. Cook instant potatoes--follow package directions for water, milk, and butter. (this should only take 5-10 min)

  8. Step 8

When potatoes are complete, cook the brown gravy--again following package directions for amount of water. (this should only take about 5 min)

  9. Step 9

Now...to assemble the masterpiece: Place a piece of Texas toast on a plate, top with scoop of mashed potatoes, place a piece of meatloaf on top of potatoes, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of meatloaf, top all with brown gravy. Enjoy!

  10. Step 10

*Can be assembled differently if you choose*
