I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of spending an arm and a foot on teeth-whitening supplies that could cause acne break-outs, weaken your teeth, or even slowly poison your mind and body. I took the liberty to use both research and personal experience to whiten your teeth safely and (for the most part) cheaply.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • baking soda or a baking soda-based toothpaste Tom's is a good example)
  • a decent filtration system (probably the most costly suggestion, but this is something you don't want to pinch pennies on).
  • fresh vegetables and cheese
  1. Step 1

Get rid of the oral hygiene products containing either hydrogen peroxide or fluoride. While it’s true that hydrogen peroxide bleaches teeth as well as hair, it’s not a good idea to use it all the time on your teeth. It will cause your skin to break out in acne. As for fluoride, it is best to evade it as much as possible. This leads us to our next step.

  2. Step 2

Get a filtration system. Look on the market for a system that eliminates fluoride from drinking water. While this is something to you don’t want to buy at the cheapest possible price, don’t overpay either. Use logic and common sense to decide. Please remember that as expensive as it may seem at first, your only fiscal concern would be to replace the filter as suggested.

  3. Step 3

Get either baking soda or baking soda-based tooth paste. Baking soda is a tooth whitener that won’t cause your skin to break out. Add 1 part salt to 3 parts baking soda, mix it together, put it on your toothbrush and massage it into your teeth for about 2 minutes. Spit and then continue with your teeth cleaning regimen. You can do this one a day, but you will get quicker results if you use this twice a day.

  4. Step 4

This next step is obvious but easier said than done: make healthy eating choices. This doesn’t mean you HAVE to give up coffee, sweets, drinking, nicotine, etc., but it is advisable to cut down on these products. Make sure you eat some level of raw fruits and vegetables (the less pumped with pesticides and hormones, the better). Better yet, eat cheese. Yes, you heard me right. Cheese strengthens the enamel in your teeth; a healthier substitute for fluoride

I hope this advice will be to your benefit.

Tips & Warnings
  • While hydrogen peroxide shouldn’t always be used orally, it works wonders on canker sores. This is the only occasion I would suggest its use.
  • I’ve heard everything from “it’s the cause of Thyroid disease” to “the government puts it in there to poison our minds.” What I can tell you is the a National Academy Science Report of Fluoridation warned about its uses and how it could negatively affect your teeth and probably your bone structure. No matter how much dentist's say it'll make your teeth stronger, anything that makes your teeth a dingy yellow or brown can't be good. This step is rather difficult to accomplish, as the government does indeed allows water treatment plants to put fluoride in our water supply.
