Instructions

  1. Monthly Maintenance

    • 1

Fill your bucket with a gallon of hot water. Add four caps full of Pine-Sol to the bucket. Mix well with a long spoon or stick.

    • 2

Rub your tempurpedic mattress with your towel. This will remove any dust or loose grim particles from your bed. Scrub to remove all the material before you begin cleaning.

    • 3

Dip your washcloth in the bucket of hot water. Wring out the excess water. You want the cloth damp but not soaked. Rub your mattress with the washcloth, starting from the top and work your way down. Scrub as you go to lift the dirt from deep inside the bed. Rinse your washcloth two or three times during the process. This depends on how much dirt you are lifting from the tempurpedic mattress.

    • 4

Use your second clean towel to blot the mattress dry. After you have scrubbed your bed with the Pine-Sol mix, Take your towel and lay it on the bed. Put pressure on the material to pull up excess water.

    • 5

Let the mattress air dry. Once that side is completely dry, turn it over. Repeat steps 2 through 4 on the other side.

    Set in Stains

    • 6

Purchase PowerHouse Carpet Cleaner & Deodorizer or an equivalent product of this nature. Make sure to read all instructions before proceeding as some products may differ. You will want to choose a product that is safe for upholstery or furniture.

    • 7

Spray the cleaner over the spot. Shake the canister vigorously. Use a sweeping motion approximately three feet over the stain. Let the cleaner dry over the stain.

    • 8

Vacuum the cleanser out of your tempurpedic mattress. Once it is completely dried, vacuum your bed. You can use the extensions from your vacuum to finish this task.

    • 9

Repeat as necessary. For tougher stains, you may need to repeat two or three times for a deep clean.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before you clean your mattress, be sure you have at least six hours before you need to use your bed. Before you use Pine-Sol or the cleaner, check for discoloration before proceeding. In an area that you cannot see, test each product for changes in color to your mattress.

the tempurpedic people say absolutely never DO NOT use liquid of any kind to clean the mattresses, this can cause bacteria to grow, the material should never get wet if at all possible, if it does, they recommend baking powder or other dry cleansers (powder form) and vacuum off to clean the bed... this includes water since the bed is a giant sponge and soaks up whatever gets on it, it does not "come out". the more liquid gets in the more the mattress is compromised for breeding ground for allergens and bacteria. If liquids do get on the mattress they recommend ONLY towel pressure and blotting to get it out, then air dry and cover with baking soda to neutralize then vacuum off the baking soda. (we finally bought the waterproof breathable mattress cover- problem solved- it can be cleaned in washer)
