How to Make Flannel Baby Wipes
Baby wipes are a wonderful invention, but they can be costly. Homemade flannel baby wipes are better than those you find at the store. They're much cheaper. If you make these flannel baby wipes, you will be amazed at how well they work. You may even never use a disposable wipe again. Simply toss them in a small diaper pail for laundering once a week, and put a few in your purse in a sealed bag for on-the-go cleaning.
Things You'll Need
- 1 yard of flannel fabric Scissors Plastic box (recycled baby wipe containers work best) Baby oil Liquid baby soap

1
Cut the flannel. Cut your yard of fabric into squares. I prefer squares that are about 8 inches by 8 inches. To minimize fraying, you can use pinking sheers for the edges.
-
2
Split the finished squares into two equal piles. You will make wipes out of one pile. Keep the other pile on hand to make a second batch of wipes when you are washing the first batch.

3
Create a wash solution. Inside a plastic container, mix 1 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of baby oil and 1 tablespoon of the liquid baby soap. Stir the solution until it is mixed.
-
4
Finish your baby wipes. Place the first pile of wipes inside the container to soak up all the solution. You will find these wipes are much softer than store-bought wipes. Your baby's bum will thank you.

After diaper changes, just toss the wipes in a dry diaper pail until you are ready to wash them. Wash with cloth diapers or by themselves with hot water. Tumble dry.
