For someone looking for an office job, a nice shirt or blouse in conservative solid colors such as blue, tan, or white work well. Easy care shirts are comfortable and don't wrinkle throughout the day.

For men: Solid color ties or ties with very small print. If you know the colors of the suits they already own, then an extra tie will extend their wardrobe. Khaki or navy trousers work well for most casual atmospheres. For laborers, a nice pair of blue jeans or insulated coveralls are great. Trouser socks in navy, brown or black or insulated socks also make a nice gift.

For women: Easy care knee length skirts or jackets in solid colors that can mixed and matched will add to their wardrobe. Brown, black or navy dress pants are approriate for most office atmospheres. A solid gold tone or silver pin for the lapel is a nice accessory. For women laborers, a nice pair of blue jeans or insulated coveralls. Trouser socks in navy, black or brown or packaged pantyhose are a nice gift.

For those working in the medical field: Uniforms (Note: Many discount stores now carry uniforms.) Comfortable white walking shoes.

A nice wallet or purse in solid colors. A lightweight leatherlike binder for carrying resumes. The binder will be very useful on snowy or rainy days!
