1
See yourself as a total package. Think in terms of hair, face, wardrobe, and body as you consider how to reinvent your look and your style.
-
2
Get magazines with pictures of hairstyles, clothes, makeup, and the type of physique that you are interested in for yourself. Cut the pictures out and use them as a guide as you put together the ideas on how to reinvent your look and your style.

Get a new hair style. It is a fabulous way to reinvent your look and your style. Find a good hair stylist. Ask around, call around, etc. Make sure the stylist is skilled in cutting, coloring and styling your type of hair and that there is good communication between the two of you.
Explain that you want to make sure that the two of you have the same "vision" regarding suggestions for your new hair style (and possibly cut and color). When you feel comfortable with your stylist, set an appointment. Take your pictures with you. Together, decide which style(s) will look best on you and accentuate your new look.
When you both are in agreement, allow the stylist to proceed. If you decide to have your hair colored, make sure the color accentuates your beautiful skin tone, and does not cause you to look washed out. Only wear the hair colors that look good on you.
If you have your hair cut, make sure the cut accentuates your features, etc.

Research the Internet for good skin care products. Good skin care helps as you reinvent your look and your style. Many skin care products are expensive but there are good ones that are inexpensive.
Talk with make up artists (at cosmetic counters; who are not necessarily skin care experts but may have some good info). But even more so, talk with aestheticians at spa centers. Get their expertise.
Use products that agree with your skin as well as clean your skin, but will not dry your skin out. Many cleansing products do cause dryness, so make sure you use a good moisturizer. It does not have to be the most expensive, but some will be expensive and some won't.

Reinvent your look and your style with great make up! Research on the Internet and talk with make up artists who work at cosmetic counters to help you decide on a good make up for your skin type as well as a make-up that will accentuate your natural beauty.
Collect pictures of looks that you like and take them to the make-up counter with you to discuss with the make-up artists. Also ask them to do a make up application for you while you are
there. Find out if they charge a fee. Some might but many don't.Take a friend with you who will be honest to tell you how the make up looks on you. Ask at the make up counter if you can go out into the mall/outside to see how the make up looks in different kinds of light. The make up artist will more than likely use many products on your face; because if you like your look, you may possibly spend more money. But consider your own budget. Start slowly if you have to and get the products, in order of importance, as you go along. Get advice on this from the make-up artist.
After your make-up application, take your time (unless you don't have much time) and think about if you want to purchase that make up or try a different one. If you decide you don't like it, do not feel pressured to purchase. Repeat the process until you find a make-up that looks great on you.

Choose clothing that will accentuate your body type. Remember that what looks good on one person, may not necessarily look good on another. Make selections that look good on you! Selecting the correct clothing will help you reinvent your look and your style.
Find pictures of clothing on models who have your body type (shape) and pick those types of styles. Wear lots of beautiful colors. Everyone has their "best" colors, meaning the colors that really look good on them. And yes, there are some colors that we all should just not wear. And that is because certain colors look really drab on us, no matter what make up we wear, or they simply wash us out. So stay away from those colors. But otherwise, get lots of colorful clothing and muted colors too, as long as they look good on you with your total look, meaning hair and make-up, etc.
Note: Try the clothes on to see how they fit your body type; to see what looks good on you and what doesn't. Take a friend with you. Also. Stick to your budget. Don't spend all your money on shoes and clothes.

Select the right shoes for you. Purchase shoes that are comfortable, that match your clothing, and look good on you. Buying shoes that hurt your feet is a waste of your money! Try on the shoes that you like and take a friend with you. Walk around in them. How do they look and how do they feel? And remember, you don't have to get thousands of pairs of shoes just because it may be popular. But get what you can afford. Add a pair of shoes here and there as you can afford them.

Develop a good exercise program to stay in shape and keep your physique toned. If you don't have an exercise routine, start one now. Just don't get discouraged.
If you are looking to lose weight, put your new physique on lay-a-way. And little by little you will see progress in your quest to give yourself a make over. But you have to stick to it and do not overdo it!
