Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for the bountiful harvest. In today's world, our harvest comes from the grocery store. We focus on giving thanks for the things and people that we have in our lives. Let's bring back the original meaning of Thanksgiving. Give thanks for the natural bounty that comes to us by decorating your Thanksgiving Day table with natural place card holders. This simple craft is a great way to mark where all of the guests for your Thanksgiving dinner will sit.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a final head count of the number of people that will be coming to your Thanksgiving Day feast. You will want to make sure that you make one natural place card holder for each person that will attend your meal. This little touch of personalization will mean so much on this Thanksgiving Day.

  2. Step 2

Head out to your local produce store with your Thanksgiving dinner head count in hand. You need to purchase enough pears to make your place card holders. It is best to buy a few more pears then is needed for your count. This gives you enough pears in case you make a mistake with your Thanksgiving place card holders.

  3. Step 3

Cut a piece of poster board into small rectangles. These rectangles need to be smaller then the pears that they will be placed into. On the card you will want to right out the name of each person that will be attending your Thanksgiving dinner. The best writing instrument to use for this purpose is a thin black marker. You will be able to clearly write out the name of each guest.

  4. Step 4

Spray each pear with a spray adhesive. Roll the pears in glitter to give your Thanksgiving place card holders some sparkle. Shake off any excess glitter and place the pears to the side. You will want to allow the pears to dry completely before you go to the next step.

  5. Step 5

Make a clean cut on the top of the pear. This will be where you place the card with the Thanksgiving Day guest's name on it. Slide the card into the slot on the pear. Make sure that the name is readable on the card after it has been slid into the pear. Tie a red ribbon around the stem of each pear. This finishes the natural Thanksgiving place card holders. Place each one of the table proudly for all of your guests to see.
