None of these ideas will make you rich, but they can help you pay off credit card bills and grab some extra spending money.

Have a yard sale. Almost everybody has loads of clothes and other miscellaneous items that they don't want or need anymore. Selling these things for dirt cheap can be a quick way to get rid of them and make some extra money. Depending on how many things you sell and the quality of the items, you could make a few hundred dollars off of your yard sale.

Write articles for websites. Associated Content and eHow are just two examples of the many sites that will pay you for original articles. Websites such as these will pay you upfront for articles as well as for page views your work receives. Many people use the money they make from writing online to pay bills or for extra spending money. Those who are particularly successful can even make a living writing for Internet sites.

Sell items on eBay. Selling more expensive things, such as CDs, DVDs, video games and sports collectibles will be much more profitable than selling them at your yard sale. One great thing about eBay is that you can set the price of your item. If nobody matches or even goes above that price, you can keep your belongings instead of getting rid of them for a lower price.

Make low-risk investments. ING offers both high interest savings accounts and CDs. You could invest the money you've made from a yard sale or eBay into a 12-month CD at 4 percent interest, for example. This way, your money will make even more money and you won't be compelled to spend it since you technically won't be able to do so (without paying a withdrawal penalty).

Don't expect to make tons of money using any of the above tips. Making money is hard work, and there is no "easy" guaranteed way to make thousands upon thousands of dollars. The tips listed above, though, will give you some spending money or help you pay off some bills. Beware of any and all "get rich quick" or "pyramid" schemes. These sound especially appealing when you're looking to make extra cash. Unfortunately, almost 99 percent of these are nothing more than a scam. These places take your money and promise that you'll receive your investment back plus lots more. You'll probably just end up losing your money.
