This variation on the vanilla shake sports an extra boost of both flavor and potassium. Make sure your banana is ripe, but not overripe. This recipe makes one shake.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 c. cold milk
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 bananas - cut into chunks
  • blenders
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 c. cold milk
  • 1 bananas - cut into chunks
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  1. Step 1

    Put ice cream, banana chunks, milk and vanilla in a blender.

  2. Step 2

    Cover and blend on High until ingredients are well-combined and the shake is the desired consistency.

  3. Step 3

    Pour into a tall glass and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon for kicks.
  • Add a jigger of rum for an adult version.
  • For a chocolate banana shake, add 3 tbsp. chocolate syrup or use chocolate ice cream.
  • Use low-fat ice cream to reduce the number of calories in the shake.

on 11/22/2005 Add a dash of salt (brings out flavor) and a shot of whipped cream before blending. The riper the banana, the better. If your nana is a bit underripe, add some honey or brown sugar.
