Things You'll Need:
- One lb ground beef
- Taco seasoning packet
- Hamburger buns
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Diced onions
- Sliced jalapenos (optional)
- Salsa
- Sour cream
- Skillet
-
Step 1
Brown ground beef, then drain fat, and prepare taco meat according to the taco seasoning directions. Most are prepared by adding taco seasoning packet plus a half to one cup of water and returning to a simmer for a few minutes. If you have leftover taco meat, simply rewarm in a microwave or a skillet.
-
Step 2
Prepare your toppings for your taco sandwiches. Shred lettuce thinly, dice tomatoes and onions, and set out shredded cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream. Leave buffet style so your family can add their taco burger toppings to their tastes.
-
Step 3
Place taco meat on sandwich bun much like you would for a sloppy joe, spreading over bun to a depth of about a half to 3/4 inch. Add shredded cheddar cheese, and any other desired toppings. Add salsa and sour cream on top of your taco toppings, add other half of bun. Enjoy!
