Things You'll Need:
- Loofah sponge
- Dirty pots and pans
-
Step 1
You have dirty dishes, right? Then it's time to begin. The easiest way to clean your tough pots and pans is immediate cleaning! Using caution and a utility knife, cut your loofah into slices that are thick enough to hold comfortably in your hand (about a half-inch thick).
-
Step 2
Run a sink of hot, soapy dishwater. Using a stopper instead of letting the water flow continuously uses less water and you can wash several pots and pans in the same water. Many companies make ecologically friendly dish soap. Other ways to make your dish soap more green include diluting it up to 1/2 with water. You can also make a baking soda paste to scrub but be careful not to use baking powder paste on non-stick surfaces like Teflon.
-
Step 3
Using your new loofah sponge, scrub your pots and pans until they sparkle. Loofah is even safe to use on non-scratch surfaces.

on 11/23/2008 Great idea. I never considered Loofah, but will in the future. I like using things that are natural and biodegradable. Thanks!
