For Thanksgiving, try something new with your turkey. An extra easy way to make your turkey delicious and juicy, with things you have lying around the house.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • turkey
  • large cooler
  • water
  • sugar
  • salt
  1. Step 1

Use a cooler that is large enough to hold your turkey. Most everyone had a cooler around the house.

  2. Step 2

Add enough cool water to submerge your turkey entirely, but make sure it is so much water ,that when you add the turkey, it doesn't overflow.

  3. Step 3

Mix equal amounts of salt and sugar in the water (about a cup each). Taste test the water, should be a sweet sea water flavor.

  4. Step 4

    Submerge turkey into the water.

  5. Step 5

Leave turkey submerged for 24 hours before cooking, then cook as usual. If it is cold outside, set turkey outside, in cooler for 24 hours before baking or frying. If it is not cold at your house set bags of ice (make sure to leave in bag)on top of your turkey for 24 hours before cooking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to cook turkey until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
  • If it is cold outside, set turkey outside, in cooler for 24 hours before baking or frying. If it is not cold at your house set bags of ice (make sure to leave in bag)on top of your turkey for 24 hours before cooking.
  • Frying a turkey instead of roasting makes the turkey cook better.
  • Always use caution when frying a turkey.
