Homemade turkey gravy is economical, and tastes better that the stuff you buy at the store. All you need is the drippings from your roasted turkey and a little bit of flour to make awesome turkey gravy from scratch this Thanksgiving.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Turkey gravy is best made from a roasted turkey on Thanksgiving. When your turkey is close to being done, collect as much of the drippings as you can with a ladle or a turkey baster, and tranfer to a wide bowl. You'll want to use a wider bowl so the juice can cool faster.

  2. Step 2

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge for a half hour or so. The point is to try to get as much of the fat solidified and risen to the top of the bowl, where you can then scrape as much of it as possible off with a spoon. Strain the rest of the turkey drippings into a pan.

  3. Step 3

Heat up the strained turkey drippings in the pot on your stove burner on medium high, and whisk in a few tablespoons of flour. Add enough flour to make it the consistancy you want. You can add seasonings to taste.
