Clear Your Complexion
Clear Your Complexion

Do you have oily, acne-prone skin? Do you have scarring that you'd like to reduce without expensive, invasive surgery? There are steps you can take at home to get a clearer, brighter, smoother complexion.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleansers
  • Moisturizer
  • Home microdermabrasion kit
  1. Step 1

Drink lots of water. This will keep your skin hydrated, which can reduce wrinkles in the long term. In the short term your face will be brighter.

  2. Step 2

Exercise. The sweat from exercise releases toxins that built up in the body. It also give your skin a healthy, rosy glow.

  3. Step 3

Wash your face twice per day with a quality cleanser. This will prevent further breakouts and scarring. If you have trouble with acne, I recommend Proactive because it really worked for me. Or try other products that contain Benzoil Peroxide.

  4. Step 4

Moisturize. Use a quality moisturizer that is made specifically for your face. A lotion I use is Lancome, because it doesn't contain oil.

  5. Step 5

Create your own mask. A mask that I like for softer, oil-free skin, is oatmeal. Simply cook the oatmeal according to the directions, wait until it's cooled off (obviously, so you don't burn yourself) and apply it to your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then peel and rinse.

  6. Step 6

Try microdermabrasion. This technique exfoliates your skin, removing dull, dead skin cells and revealing fresher skin. For more information on microdermabrasion, see my article in the resources section below.

  7. Step 7

By maintaining this skin care regimen, you should see an improvement in the smoothness, softness, and brightness of your complexion.

    Good luck!
