Hello everyone. Its almost Christmas time and it is this time of the year that everyone is trying to make ham for Christmas. Here is the famous Jamaican Ham recipe you can try. You just can't have Christmas without trying out this ham.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 10 lb. Ham
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 12 pineapple slices
  • 10 cloves
  • 12 cherries
  • 1 cup water
  1. Step 1

    First you preheat the oven at 300F

  2. Step 2

    Cover the ham with the lid or with heavy-duty foil.

  3. Step 3

    Next place ham skin side up on a baking tray and bake for 90 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Remove from oven and score the ham placing the cloves in groves.

  5. Step 5

    In a sauce pan, cook the pineapple slices with water and sugar until a glaze is formed.

  6. Step 6

    Pour the glaze over the ham and garnish with pineapple and cherries.

  7. Step 7

    And lastly, put the ham back into the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.

  8. Step 8

    Remove ham from oven and let sit for at least 15 minutes before carving; this will keep the juices in.

Tips & Warnings
  • Baste ham frequently to keep it juicy, use the juice from the bottom of the roasting pan.
  • Cover the ham until the last 15 to 30 minutes to keep it from drying out.
  • Bake ham at a lower temperature. Baking times will vary according to your oven and the size of the ham
