Instructions

    • 1

Hold the engine guards up to your bike and determine exactly where you'll need to mount them. You can use a piece of chalk to mark this location.

    • 2

Install spacers in your rear footpegs. This may or may not be necessary, depending on what model of motorcycle and engine guards you have. You can use a socket, but due to the location of the bolts, it may be easier to use a wrench. Remove the bolts that secure the rear footpegs to the bike's frame. These bolts are located on the inside of the footpeg next to the engine. Then insert the spacer between the frame of the bike and the footpeg, and reinstall the footpeg.

    • 3

Remove the front footpegs. Use a socket or wrench to remove the bolts that hold the pegs to the frame, and set these parts aside. Again, these bolts are on the inside of the footpeg near the engine.

    • 4

Slide the engine guard between the front fender and the frame. The open portion of the engine guard should be nearest the ground. Keep the engine guard clear of the radiator, if your bike is equipped with one. Slide the mounting tabs on the bottom of the engine guards between the footpeg mounts and the frame. Align the brackets, insert the spacers and re-install the front footpegs using a wrench or socket.

    • 5

Secure the top of the engine guard to the bike. If your bike is water-cooled, you will need to remove the top bolt on the radiator cover. Insert the longer bolt that is included in your engine guard kit through your engine guard into the radiator cover. If your bike is air-cooled, you will need to secure the engine guard to your frame. Simply insert the bolt through the engine guard into the bike's frame, and tighten as needed.
