Want to raise money to support yourself with your blog, raise money for a charity, or get funds for your education?
Do you have friends and supporters who you will feel would like to donate to your cause? Here is how to make a PayPal Donate Button.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paypal account
  • Blog, website or newsletter etc.
  1. Step 1

    Go to PayPal.com and sign up for a Paypal account or click the Paypal link in the resource section at the bottom of this article.

  2. Step 2

    In the "Home" section of Paypal, look at the blue tabs across the top.
    Click on the tab labeled "Merchant Services".

  3. Step 3

    A new screen will pop up. Scroll down to where it says, "Create Buttons". Under the "Create Buttons" section, click "Donate".

  4. Step 4

    A new screen will pop up that says "Choose Button Type and Enter Payment Details". Under Accept Payments for the field "Donations" will automatically populate. Type in your Organization Name/Service in the Organization Name/Service field.

    Next look at the Customize Button Field. Your button can appear with the words DONATE or with the words DONATE and small pictures of credit cards below it. Click "Customize Appearance" to decide between these options.

  6. Step 6

    If you have a Pro-Merchant account go to Step 2 and save your button. You can also customize your button in Step 3, adding a business logo etc. If you have a personal account, skip Step 2 and Step 3.

  7. Step 7

    Click the orange "Create Button" at the very bottom of the screen.

  8. Step 8

    Paypal will generate your Donate button code. Copy and paste this code in blogs at your website etc.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have a Pro-Merchant account and customize with a business logo etc., be sure it is hosted on a secure server or people donating will get a security warning message.
