Things You'll Need:
- sausage
- sauerkraut(can or pkg)
- bacon
- flour
- brown sugar
- potatoes
- onion
- olive oil
-
Step 1
Potatoes: Peel your potatoes and cut in quarters. Rinse and place in pot. Fill with water, just enough to cover potatoes. Cover pot and cook on medium heat. Cook until tender.
-
Step 2
Sausage: Cut sausage on the diagonal, into bite size pieces. Place in frying pan with olive oil and cook until brown. Set aside.
-
Step 3
Sauerkraut: Rinse and drain sauerkraut.
-
Step 4
Bacon: Cut bacon into pieces. Cook bacon and diced onion in the same pan you had sausage in. Cook until crisp. Slowly add flour a teaspoon at a time, until you have a rue. Allow to brown.
-
Step 5
Complete: Add sauerkraut to bacon mixture, and gradually stir in a cup of water. Add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, and stir. Add sausage to pan and allow mixture to simmer, stirring frequently. If mixture seems to thick, slowly add more water till you have a creamy consistency.
-
Step 6
By now your potatoes are done. Drain and place in large dish. Spoon sausage and sauerkraut mixture on top. You are now ready to serve.

on 10/18/2009 Rue and sauerkraut bad idea. Biggest pile of **** dinner ever created. If you like terrible grease gravy and sauerkraut smothered over potatoes this is for you. Save your time and money. Im on my way to the hospital now to have my stomach pumped.
