Step 1
If you havent already, I suggest you sign up for your favorite bookstore's mailing list. I personally prefer Borders just because their rewards card is free. (You have to pay $30 membership for B&N)
Borders usually sends you a coupon every week that varies from as little as 20%-40%. And if you also buy a lot from this store, your credit will eventually add up to $150 and then they give you a free $5 to spend. Pretty cool in my opinion. -
Step 2
Go to yard sales. Yes. Garage sales. One time i found a Harry Potter book for $2. I didnt buy it because i already have my copy but i thought that was pretty cool. It was even in good condition. And for a few bucks? You cant go wrong.

Step 3
If you dont want to buy the book right away and also to avoid spending too much money, the library is your best bet to get your book fix. You can borrow books that you want to read, and if you dont like it, then return it with no reaction. If you happen to fall in love with the book though, then go to the book store and buy the copy. Then your money spending will feel like it's well worth it.

Step 4
The library also has their own book sales that are fairly cheap. So dont miss out. Sign up also for their mailing list so you know when these events are on.
-
Step 5
Another way you can save up for books is to go to half price book stores. There are some book stores that sell their stuff for half the retail price. I personally love this one and i always check in my local used book store first if they have it before i go to Borders. And most of these stores sell good quality condition books. Most look like new. It's a great thing.

Step 6
And last but not the least, ONLINE SHOPPING. Yes, i mean Amazon.com or Ebay or Half.com. They usually have WAYYYY cheaper price than the regular prices sold if you buy it from a store. And they usually have a great deal with giving you free shipping if you buy a minimum/max amount of purchase. And cmon, with a book-aholic like you? I'm sure you can fill it just fine. Happy Shopping! Happy Reading!
