Step 1
If your religion is opposed to the idea of evolution, choose biology materials that focus on the diversity of plant and animal life, as well as their physiology--how they work. You should obtain a secular biology text that explains evolution so that your child understands what mainstream scientists believe, but you don't have to focus on this.
-
Step 2
Find solar science text books that focus on the characteristics of planets and stars, and not so much on how old they are. You should obtain secular science materials so your child understands the viewpoints of mainstream scientists, but use this material infrequently.
-
Step 3
Find Earth science and geology text books that focus on the characteristics of present structures. If your religion is incompatible with the idea of our planet being billions of years old, find texts that don't focus on the Earth's age. You should obtain secular teaching materials that explain the mainstream scientific views so that your child understands different views.

Step 4
If your curriculum is broad and puts emphasis on mathematics, English, art & music, and foreign languages, then the contentious science curriculum will not overshadow other areas of learning. It is important that you expose your children to concepts that contradict what your religion teaches, but you can make clear that it is not what your church teaches. Your children will be better prepared for college if they have some familiarity with these ideas.
