Gmail Themes

Google has introduced Themes for Gmail accounts. Now, not unlike iGoogle, your Gmail interface can be set to match your style and personality.

Instructions

Step 1

Log in to your Gmail account. If you don't have a Gmail account (this is Google's free email service which, at the time this article was written, offers around 7 gigs of storage), follow this link to get started: http://mail.google.com/mail/signup
Step 2

Click the Settings link in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to the General Settings page.
Step 3

Themes tab located here.

Click the tab labeled Themes. This should be the tab farthest to the right in the initial Settings page. (On a side note, the previous tab is Labs, which is worth a look, lots of cool stuff in there.) Here is a shortcut directly to that page: http://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#settings/themes
Step 4

To try out different themes, all you need to do is give each theme a click, and it will change right away, no need to save! Try them out, have some fun with them!

Tips & Warnings

If you don't see the Themes tab in your Settings page, don't panic. This feature was introduced November 19, 2008, and will be rolled out over a period of a few days. Be patient and you will see it soon.
There are 26 themes initially, and are sure to be more in the future. Have fun with them!
