Instructions

    • 1

If incessant beeping from your unit occurs (and you are certain it is not a smoke detector) start by locating the CONTROL PANEL & POWER TRANSFORMER.

    • 2
      all ADT pieces

The transformer is usually a small square unit plugged into a standard electrical outlet. Unplug this unit.

    • 3
      remove battery

Next, locate the ceiling sensor, which resembles a smoke detector. Disable it by removing the expired battery, replacing with a new one or just leaving it without a battery in it at all.

    • 4

If, after doing all these steps your unit is still beeping...IT IS NOT YOUR ADT ALARM; it is, in fact, your smoke detector's expired battery. Check around until you find the culprit.

    • 5

Now you can all return to bed without worries of the blaring alarm or annoying beeps disrupting your and your family's sleep.

This will make your dog extremely happy because the high frequency pitch would drive him/her into a frenzy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't Panic, whatever you do. Though "alarms" make your heart beat faster by nature, try to remain calm throughout this process of elimination.

  • If the first several tries don't work, don't get frustrated and bash the units with a hammer; that won't solve your problem.

Stupid alarms! They need to invent a home alarm that can tell the good guys from the bad guys! Until then, though, good instructions :D
