How to Use a Heat Sealer
Industrial heat sealing is used in everyday products, such as food packaging, displays and even for building plastic structures. In products used every day, there is evidence of heat sealing. This method employs using two heating bars. One heating bar is located on an upper arm, and another is located on a lower arm. When the two bars come together, heat is applied and a bond is made between the two sheets of plastic.

1
Begin by turning on your heat sealer. Locate the "On" button, which should be on the front panel of your heat sealer. Flick the button on and turn on the heat sealer.
-
2
Turn on the heating element. It will take a little while for the heating element to heat up.
-
-
3
Once the heat sealer is properly warmed up, you can begin to seal your material.
-
4
Place the material to be sealed in between the sealers presses or upper press and lower press, as they are properly called.
-
5
Once the material to be sealed has been properly adjusted on the lower press, depress the safety button located on the front panel of the heat sealer. You will now see the upper press and lower press come together. The sealer will now apply heat to the top and bottom of the material being sealed.
-
6
You will hear or see an audio or visual cue in the form of a light on the front of panel of the heat sealer or a buzzing sound from the press indicating that it is applying heat. This may happen up to two times.
-
7
After the second audio or visual cue, there will be a long pause, in which cooling will take place.
-
8
Finally, the sealing process is complete. Lift the arms on the heat sealer and test the new seal.
-
9
To test the new seal, pull on the top half of the seal and try to pull the seal apart. If you are unable to break the seal, then you have a prefect seal.
