Step 1
Make up your posters in florescent colors because they will attract the most attention. Your poster should be at least 8 x 10 inches, but bigger is even better. Start with a big headline (at least four-inch letters) that says: LOST CAT.

Step 2
Underneath will be your cats picture. Then write a brief description of your cat that anyone can understand. If you use this simple format, you can make them up yourself with markers. Children, who often find lost cats, can easily read these posters.
However, having a picture of your pet on your poster will help people identify your cat. -
Step 3
You should keep out a few identifying factors so that when people call and claim to have a black and white cat, you can ask questions to make sure its yours. For example, when someone calls, you can ask, Is there anything different about feet? After they answer, you can say, No, thats not ours. Ours has three white feet and one black foot. Put them up in local supermarkets and other stores, restaurants and businesses. Try beauty shops, pizza places, community bulletin boards, churches, Laundromats, convenience stores anywhere you can. Put them up at your local mall, Wal-Mart, etc.
