A great way to display favorite family photos is to make placemats with them. You will see your photos everytime you sit down for a meal!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photos
  • Card Stock the size of your finished placemat
  • Double sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Office supply store that does color copies & laminating
  1. Step 1

Collect copies of your favorite photos. Decide on a theme for your placemat (family vacation, wedding, 4 seasons, landscapes, kids, holidays, etc.). Kids love to have a placemat with their own photos.

  2. Step 2

Arrange the photos on the cardstock in a pleasing arrangement. Cut the photos as desired to get the right fit. Cut out any parts of the photo that don't enhance the picture you want to display. Outline cutting several photos can be fun if you want a collage effect.

  3. Step 3

Using the double sided tape stick the photos on to the cardstock. Anywhere there is blank space - use the markers to write captions, draw little doodle/fill-in designs, dates, names, etc. Fill up the entire surface.

  4. Step 4

Bring the completed piece to an office supply store and ask for color photocopies and have the copies laminated. You now have custom photo placemats! And - your original photos are not laminated so you can take them off the cardstock and re-use them.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are cutting photos - be sure to have the original safely tucked away somewhere else!
  • Ask the store to use the photo setting when making the copies.
