How to Install Blackberry Messenger

Although the BlackBerry instant messaging client now comes included with all BlackBerry handsets, you may download and install the application from the BlackBerry App World if your device was released before its inclusion with BlackBerry OS. The instant messaging client features options for push notifications, music integration and file sharing. Your device transfers the file to your applications folder once the app is downloaded from the BlackBerry App World.

Instructions

1. Open "Applications" and select "BlackBerry App World."

2. Press the "Menu" key and select "Search."

3. Type "BlackBerry Messenger" in the text field and tap "Blackberry Messenger" in the list of results.

4. Select "Download" in the "BlackBerry Messenger" details page and select "Download" in the pop-up menu that appears. BlackBerry Messenger downloads to your BlackBerry handset.

5. Return to the Home screen, select "Downloads" and select "BlackBerry Messenger" in the list of downloads to open the application.
