Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The first easy Thanksgiving craft you can help children make is a pine cone turkey. Draw feathers on red, orange, and brown construction paper. Help children cut out the feathers. Place glue on the feathers and stick them into the pine cone to dry. Draw the turkey's face on brown paper and cut it out. Let your children cut it out and glue it into the to of the pine cone.

  2. Step 2

Another craft you can create with children is a Native American headband. Let children cut out a long brown strip from brown construction paper. Wrap the band around their head to see how big it should be. Then staple it to connect the strip. Draw feathers on the construction paper and cut them out. Glue or staple them to the back of the headband.

  3. Step 3

For the big Thanksgiving meal, you can help children create place mats for the guests. GIve them large sheets of white construction paper and markers. They can draw turkeys, Native Americans, leaves, Pilgrims, etc. with the markers. Once they have completed their place mat help them cover it in contact paper. If they are too young to use contact paper you can do it for them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask your child if their is something they would like to make. Their creativity might surprise you!
  • Don't let young children use scissors. Or make sure they use children's scissors.
