Things You'll Need:

  • Cornbread mix Mill Bags Butter or Margarine Onions Celery Chicken Broth Cream of chicken soup Black pepper Seasoned salt Poultry seasoning Sage Ground Savory
  1. Step 1

    Purchase a package of white cornbread mix and prepare it according to the package instructions. Baked in your oven until the cornbread is completely cooked and golden brown. Remove the cornbread from your oven and place it in an area for cooling.

  2. Step 2

    Boil two eggs, until they are completely cooked. Chop the boiled eggs into small pieces and place them inside of a large mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Using a food processor or a sharp knife chop 1/2 cups each of onion and celery. Place 1/3 cup of butter or margarine into a skillet and sauté the onion and celery. Place the sauté onions and celery inside of the large mixing bowl with the chopped boiled eggs.

  4. Step 4

    Crumble, the cornbread into small pieces, place the crumbled cornbread inside of the large mixing bowl with the eggs, onions and celery and mix thoroughly together to create your corn bread dressing mixture.

  5. Step 5

    Inside of the large mixing bowl add the following seasoning to your corn bread mixture and mix thoroughly together:

    ½ teaspoon of Poultry Season
    1 teaspoon of Sage
    1 teaspoon of Ground Savory
    ½ teaspoon of Black Pepper
    ½ teaspoon of Seasoning Salt
    1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup
    1-¼ cups of Chicken Broth.

  6. Step 6

    Place your corn bread mixture inside of a greased baking dish, and bake for 30-35 minutes at 350°F until your cornbread dressing is golden brown.

  • Use an 8 - 10 inch baking dish Use a spray cooking oil, such as Pam For a more Homestyle taste boil raw chicken livers in gizzards for your chicken broth
