Find a Partner, and Maybe a Spouse

Many people are out there searching for love. Over three of my friends have started to approach finding a partner or spouse in the same way they approach their businesses and they have all gotten married or engaged in the last year, no joke! Learn their method and find the love!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • an open mind
  1. Step 1

    Set Goals!
The first thing you need to do when looking for love is to set goals. I know this sounds silly, but look at your calendar and set a goal for the number of dates you will go on every month. For most of my friends this was at least 2 and at a max of six. Be ambitious just like you would in your job. You can't find someone if you aren't meeting anyone new!

  2. Step 2

    Be Open Minded!
Be open minded about where and how you can hit your monthly date goal. Sign up for online dating services, go to singles nights, have friends set you up, talk to people in coffee shops. My friend found herself two days before the end of the month and she needed one more date so she asked the plumber to stay for dinner. Be open to any and all possibilities and push yourself beyond your comfort zone!

  3. Step 3

    Expand Your Social Life!
A great place to meet new people is in a class or group of people that do something you love. Sign up for an art class, a running group, a weekly wine tasting! Find people, friends and potential mates, to expand your pool. New friends may know someone perfect for you or you may find them in your class.

  4. Step 4

    Stick to Your Goals!
Inform a few friends about your monthly goal so that they can hold you accountable to meeting it. Give yourself an incentive for hitting it every month - like a massage, new piece of clothing, or fancy dinner. Force yourself to go on dates even if you don't think the person is perfect. Normally we find love when we are least expecting it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look for potential dates everywhere, including online! More and more people are meeting online!
  • Ask friends for help!
  • Set a small goal to start and add more dates each month as you get more comfortable
  • Make sure to have your initial dates in public places if they are with people you don't know. Do not put yourself in harms way.

on 11/19/2008 I love these practicals, people plan their whole lives out but refuse to take part in finding their own mate! They want to "leave it up to fate", but you have to help it along! Excellent tips, 5 stars!
