How to Use Room Design Games Online

There are several types of games online that allow children and adults alike to design a room. You can find trendy designs, Barbie versions and highly detailed environments. At DesignMyRoom, you can choose diverse room styles and add paint, lighting and furniture. If you like what you see, you can even purchase for your own home the items you have chosen.

      Go to the DesignMyRoom website. (Follow the link in Resources.) At the top of the page, click "Start New Project." You will be redirected to a page with different room styles to choose from. Click on the room palette of your choice.

      Click on "Get Started!" On this page, you can view tips for sharing your design and saving it, as well as other information regarding your room design. Once you click on "Get Started!", you will be directed to a blank palette.

      Click on the side arrow to scroll through all of your options. The "Products" tab allows you to view paint, lighting, furniture, flooring, decor and much more. You can add items to your favorite tab for easier access to all of the products. If you are unsure where to start, the "Inspiration" tab will assist you in selecting various textures and palettes. The "Shopping" tab saves all of your design choices, which will make saving your project easier.

      Begin with paint. Go through the list of all the paints by pressing the arrows on the left- and right-hand sides of the page. Once you have decided on a paint, click on it and drag it to the wall on your palette. You can paint all of the walls different colors or make them all the same. Then pick your flooring, ceiling texture and furniture. You can create your dream room in no time at all.

      Save your project. On the right-hand side of the screen, you have several options. You can exit your project, save, zoom and undo your last action. To save, click on the floppy-disk icon. You will need to create an account. Input your name, email address and password, then click "Sign Up." You can then fill in detailed information about your room, including its type, any notes or comments you want to remember and the project name. Click "Save," and you can come back and make changes anytime you like.
