Become a Dynamic Leader
Become a Dynamic Leader

In today's world, there are numerous leaders in every facet of society. Often we have heard that leaders must be "FAT." Oh, really. What does that mean? It means that a leader must be faithful, available and teachable. So, those are three of the characteristics; but, there are more. If you want to be dynamic, check out this article.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Faithfulness
  • Availability
  • Teachable
  1. Step 1

In order to be an excellent leader it is imperative that you be a great follower. Your ability to do this says a lot about your character. A leader has to be a person of honesty, integrity, and one who has a love and concern for people and for life. If your employees want to work for you, you are well on your way to becoming a successful leader.

  2. Step 2

A leader must be a visionary. He must have goals and projections for the business. It can't just be a case of let the feathers fall where they may. He must seek to move from Point A to Point B. If there are no goals, then the business will be set up for failure. But innovative ideas and challenging tasks, energize the employees to perform with enthusiasm and high expectation.

  3. Step 3

You must be reachable. Never be full of pride and think that you stand head and shoulders above the rest. Be human and understandable. Empathize with your employees as they go through difficult times during their life. Be concerned about what is going on in their lives. If people can feel that you care, they won't mind working and being productive in their position. Also, don't be afraid to sow yourself in their lives and share your knowledge to help them to succeed as well.

  4. Step 4

Be a great communicator. Don't come in the back door to avoid having to speak to your employees. Let them know that they are valuable enough for you to individually say "Good Morning" to each day. Have an inviting spirit that would encourage them to discuss issues and ideas with you. Never minimize their concerns but put yourself in their place and try to see the issue through their eyes.

  5. Step 5

Have a positive attitude. There will be times when it will seem utterly impossible not be negative. But a good leader will take the lemons and, somehow, make lemonade. Encourage your people not to work in a fear-infested environment but exhort them to know that we all are human and strive to do our best, but there will be times when we will make mistakes. But, as a team, we will be able to overcome and move forward.

  6. Step 6

Be a team builder. Don't be a sower of seeds of discord. Promote an atmosphere of helping your people to understand that they all are important and have self worth. Don't pit one employee against another. Encourage working together as a team to get the job done. Remember the company is no better than its leader and the people are a carbon copy of you!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be honest with your boss and don't harbor issues.
  • Remember that your leader is not perfect and can be no better than his team.
  • Don't tear down your leader with the team. It will not promote success.
  • Don't be afraid to tackle the "tough stuff".
