Things You'll Need:
- TiVo Model Series 3 DVR or a TiVo HD
- Broadband Internet Connection
-
Step 1
You're going to need a TiVo, and not just any TiVo. You will need a TiVo Model Series 3 DVR or a TiVo HD and a broadband Internet connection dedicated to the TiVo.
-
Step 2
Turn on you television and your TiVo and go to TiVo Central.
-
Step 3
Click on FIND PROGRAMS & DOWNLOADS.
-
Step 4
Click on DOWNLOAD TV, MOVIES, & WEB VIDEO.
-
Step 5
Click on YOUTUBE. At this point, if your TiVo is not equipped or not connected to the Internet you will not see the YouTube options and will not be able to enjoy the videos. (Yes, time to upgrade the TiVo!)
-
Step 6
If your TiVo is properly equipped, when you highlight FEATURED VIDEOS OR MOST RECENT, you'll see a list of videos on the right. You can use the arrow buttons on your remote to browse the list. Use CHAN/PAGE to page up and down.
-
Step 7
You can limit the list to videos uploaded today, the current week or in the last thirty days. You can also select all videos or select a time period to see a list of videos.
-
Step 8
You can select SEARCH to enter a search term and you will see that once you start to type a few letters, a list of videos will appear. (Wow, that's a lot of videos!) The asterisk (*) can be used as a wild card at the end of a word to help you search. (DOG* will locate DOG HOUSE, DOG FOOD, etc.)
-
Step 9
Once you find a video you want to view you highlight it and then press PLAY.
