Checking your cervix position is fairly easy and important when tracking your monthly cycles whether for birth control or trying to get pregnant

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • soap
  • water
  1. Step 1

Wash your hands. You can give your self an infection if you check your cervix with unclean hands. This can be dangerous to you or your baby if you are pregnant.

  2. Step 2

Insert one or two fingers into the vagina. At the back of the vagina, you should be able to feel your cervix. If you feel something at the back of your vagina that stops your fingers, then you have found your cervix. If you apply gentle pressure you will notice that it feels smooth, round and firmer that the surrounding vaginal tissues

  3. Step 3

Record you cervical position whether it is high(normally wet and soft and your most fertile time) medium or low (you will get to know these positions the longer that you do this)
Record the firmness: firm medium or soft. - if it is soft it will usually feel wet and is your most fertile firmness also.
Record the openness - Not everyone will be able to tell. And it will be very difficult to tell if your cervix is high. But it will either be open, slightly open, or closed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check your cervix once a day after your period and try to do it at the same time and same position every time.
  • Squatting or placing one foot on a stool (or toilet seat) are good positions.
  • Relax.
  • Leave checking your cervix for your doctor if you are pregnant.
