Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer and internet
  • Obama/Biden website: http://www.barackobama.com
  • Telephone/cellphone
  1. Step 1

Do a 'visual walk through' of the website by visiting some of the drop down categories on the homepage. These categories include: issues, media, people and blogs. This will help you decide if this is the website for you.

  2. Step 2

Register by clicking on "Get Local! Create Your MyBO Account(or Login)" at the top of the page. Then click "Login" at the right-hand corner of the page.

  3. Step 3

Fill in all personal information boxes under "Create Your Account" then press "Sign up". Next, a box will pop up informing you that your account has been created and in a few seconds you will be signed in to your personal account homepage.

  4. Step 4

Check out your personal homepage. This is where you can create your own profile, create and manage your own blog or sign up for the events of your choice. This page will allow you to look at your past activities, contact others online or connect with Facebook. You can even click on "Media" at the top of your homepage to go to YouTube to view and download videos.

  5. Step 5

View all information offered. Then when you are ready to get to work click on "Find Events" on the menu at the right side of the webpage. Then choose the number of miles for "Search Radius" and click on the "Find Events" button below and find events in your area.

  6. Step 6

Chose an event then check for "contacts" for the event, they will help you with any questions you have. Many events also include their own tutorials. For the all events offered, you can take baby steps and do things on your own timetable. Here is your chance to volunteer and make a difference. Go for it America!

Tips & Warnings
  • There are also many other websites looking for volunteers (including the Redcross).
  • Keep searching if you do not find what you are looking for here. Just volunteer.
