Things You'll Need:
- Bins
-
Step 1
First thing's first. Choose a recycling coordinator. If you ask for a volunteer you will probably find the best person for the job. This person needs to be organized!
-
Step 2
Decide what to recycle. Walk around and take inventory of what is commonly used: paper, aluminum cans, batteries light bulbs, computer accessories, glass bottles, plastic bottles, phones books, etc. The best way to decide what to recycle (if not everything) is to see what is used or thrown away the most and determine how much room you have to store recycled goods until hauled away.
-
Step 3
Set up recycling bins and guidelines - such as smash cans, rinse out containers, when in doubt throw it out - in designated areas.
-
Step 4
Provide Feedback to Employees - Share the success, progress and problems with your company’s program periodically with employees

on 7/2/2009 Important topic. If you're in the U.S. earth911.org is a good resource for finding where you can recycle different things near you.

on 12/6/2008 These are great tips :) If you get cash from recycling like soda pop cans, you can always start a fund that can contribute something fun to have for lunch or do for the employees :) Great article... :)
