Things You'll Need:
- Blackberry Phone
- AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint Data Plan or Wireless Internet for use with Wi-Fi functionality
- Opera Mini Browser (better viewing options) or Blackberry's default browser (faster browsing experience)
- Basic knowledge of Internet browsing from Blackberry phone
-
Step 1
ESTABLISH ALL CONNECTIONS -
Connect to the wireless network using the phone's Wi-Fi connection. If you have an unlimited Data Plan from your service provider, you can use it for browsing instead of Wi-Fi. Make sure in both the cases that you have a reliable connection. Most of the eHow articles have Image content that may take a while to load completely. -
Step 2
NAVIGATE TO WEBSITE -
From the Blackberry phone's application menu, on the front screen, go to "Browser" application to start the Internet browser. Then click the Application button and select "Go to...". You will see the following screen where you can enter eHow website's address: http://www.ehow.com. Now Select the Application button and select "Ok" to navigate to the eHow website. You can alternatively hit the Enter / Carriage Return button on your phone to navigate to the website. -
Step 3
EHOW WEBSITE FRONT PAGE MENU -
Once you reach the eHow website's front page, you can use the Blackberry's scroll button to navigate up, down, left and right on the screen. Here you can Search for eHow articles, View "Today's Top How To" article, "Featured How To" and "eHow of the Day" articles. You will also see the menu with options such as "Browse Categories", "Top 10", "Featured", "eHow of the Day", "Search" and "Home". You can even send an eHow to a friend for viewing. -
Step 4
VIEWING AN ARTICLE -
To read an article, navigate to the "eHow of the Day" link and click on it. This will load the article and you can read it. You can use the scroll button on blackberry (Round button at center) to scroll up and down to read the article. Alternatively, go to the "Browse Categories" link at the bottom of the front page and click on it. You will see category list divided into three pages. Click on "Next" to go to the second page. Here you will see "Personal Finance" category. Click on it. You will see various sub categories from where you can choose an article to read with your choice. -
Step 5
RATING AN ARTICLE -
You can rate and comment on an eHow article after reading it. Consider an example of this article on "How to Insulate Your Job From Economic Decession" located at http://www.ehow.com/how_4804131_insulate-job-economic-decession.html. You can click on "Show me the Steps" in order to view the entire article. Scroll down and you will see the screen as shown in the image. Keep scrolling till you reach the stars under "Rate It" title. As you scroll, the stars will be highlighted by a dotted rectangle. To rate the article with 5 stars, highlight the 5th star and click on it. This will rate the article. -
Step 6
SEARCH FOR AN ARTICLE -
You can either Browse through the various categories of eHow articles from the front page or you can Search for an eHow article using the "Search" Feature. Navigate to the "Search" Text box and enter your query for viewing an article. Click on the "Search" button and you will find results of your query showing you various articles. You can scroll to the article you wish to view and click on it to read and rate it. Isn't this much easier than browsing on motorola cell phones or lg cell phones ? -
Step 7
BROWSING EHOW FROM OPERA MINI BROWSER -
Some of the users may find that their Blackberry devices do not show all the features very well through the default Browser. You can download the "Opera Mini" browser from its website and install the application on your phone. Then you can open the Opera browser application and follow the above procedure to Read and Rate eHow articles.
